Legendary Scripts

Legendary Scripts is a new segment here at AskLG designed to solve some typical web design issues.  Here, I get to play around with Javascript in order to make simple solutions to mundane or difficult tasks.  Today I’m releasing two new scripts.  The first script is a spam hider to help prevent spammers from getting your email address.  The second script focuses on tooltips.  Using CSS and a little Javascript, you too can have tooltips on your website.

Day 68: Last of the Me-Today’s

Posted at...Posted at April 28th, 2008 by Will in William | CommentsNo Comments

The Cause: Today is my last day of the semester (minus finals).  Yay!
The Effect: Me today’s are no more!

Early in January, I was a naive, young blogger who thought it would be a glorious idea to post updates about my life each day I spent at college.  True to form, I stayed the good path which led to a completed journey today.  68 days later, I have grown enough to realize how difficult these daily posts are.  There just isn’t enough to talk about, or at least not enough you would care about.

Yeah, but thats cool with you right?  You wanted posts that help your life out.  News thats makes sense.  Articles with more relevence.  Ying to your Yang?  Who cares if I had a great day or if my day was crap.  It’s OK, I blame society not you.  Seriously though, starting tomorrow I am all about tech, sports, humor, and other relevant articles.

If you do have some desire to follow my life online, aside from blog posts, be sure to hit up HoltkampW.com.  It has links to every social site I’m involved with.  If you’d like to figure out what I’m doing on a daily basis, then be sure to get a Twitter account and follow me.  I might even follow you.  maybe.. possibly.. probably..

Thank you for bearing with me these past few busy weeks.  Thank you for subscribing, reading, and googling for AskLG.  Thank you for being there.  Hopefully you’ll enjoy what’s next to come.  Besides, there are some ideas churning in this crazy little head of mine that you might like.  Maybe one day soon I’ll take off my hat and release them to the wild.  We’ll see soon enough.

WWE Backlash

Posted at...Posted at April 27th, 2008 by Jman2k3 in Justin | CommentsNo Comments

Here is the scheduled card and my predictions for WWE Backlash tonight, from Baltimore, Maryland:

WWE Championship - Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
- Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. JBL.

1st elimination - JBL

2nd  elimination - Triple H

3rd elmination - John Cena

winner: Randy Orton because I think Triple H will cost John Cena the victory and set up and fued for the number one contendership.

World Heavyweight Championship Match
- The Undertaker (c) vs. Edge.

winner: The Undertaker because they aren’t going to take the title off of him after he just won it last month. He will probably win by DQ do to outside interference.

 ECW Championship
- Kane (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero.

winner: Kane because he was beat down on ECW this past Tuesday so he will get revenge with a win.

Special Guest Referee: Chris Jericho
- Shawn Michaels vs. Batista.

winner: Shawn Michaels. This one is interesting because of the way it’s been built up and with Jericho as ref. I think Jericho will try and cost HBK the victory only to back fire on himself and cost Batista the match instead.

- Big Show vs. The Great Khali.

winner: Big Show. He’s do a win since taking the dive to Mayweather at ‘Mania.

WWE United States Championship Match
- MVP (c) vs. Matt Hardy.

winner: Matt Hardy. This fued as been going on for almost a year and it would have concluded a ong time ago, but Matt Hardy kept getting hurt so this is the swan song for Matt Hardy to finally capture major singles title gold.

12-Diva Tag Team Match
- WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James, Maria, Ashley, Michelle McCool, Cherry & Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix, Melina, Jillian, Layla, Victoria & Natalya.

winner: Mickie James’ team. The bad guys won at ‘Mania so the good guys will get the dubya tonight.

Posted at...Posted at April 26th, 2008 by Will in William | Comments6 Comments

Now that OS X and Apple are becoming more mainstream, many developers (especially web guys and gals) are jumping ship to join the Mac camp.  I myself am one of these people.  After the switch, how does one get back to work?  What editors are out there?  Are they any good?  Fear not, because Macintosh has many great editors and this list compares the top 5.

Day 67: Back to life

Posted at...Posted at April 26th, 2008 by Will in William | CommentsNo Comments

Tonight I have done something I’ve been missing for three weeks now: social activity.  I went to dinner with David and Jennifer.  Then Khoa met us up for some bowling fun.  3 weeks man.  Its been a WHILE!  I guess thats what happens when you start grad school: no life.  The bowling pics are up at my Flickr, btw.

Assuming I steal some time (I have a ton to do), I’m going to be writing some interesting posts this weekend about things that are bugging me.  Hopefully.  You can hit me up on Twitter and ask for them, maybe that’ll motivate me to set aside time.

Now David dancing to Thriller:
