Day 22: Happy Birthday to me!
First and foremost, I’d like to thank everyone who texted, called, emailed, and facebook’d me wishing for a happy birthday. I appreciate it guys and gals, I do.
I’ve come to notice this world is all about timing, both good and bad. Inventions are made all the time, but only ones with good timing with a ready and willing market become popular. There are people who studies on this type of thing, but I have a more common purpose. Let me explain.
Monday, Phil and I walking at the university together. We’re talking about random things, then all of a sudden there was silence. We both were distracted and soon we heard one another say “Hey” at the same exact time. We were amazed. Two different people who don’t even know each other called us at the same exact time. Impeccable timing and an event to discuss for days to come. Today, I was driving home from school. I jump on the freeway and am in the exit lane to move to another freeway. I roll up behind an SUV that looked ever so familiar. Sure enough, it was David. How often is it you randomly see someone you know on the freeway? Much less in a city as large as Houston. Incredible timing.
Yet all timing isn’t good. Today is my birthday (obviously). I am 23 years old now. On my 23rd birthday, it will always be remembered by how much I studied. I have work due tomorrow and friday. I’m actually taking a break right now, so once this post is over, I’m hitting the books yet again. Insane.
Lets go ahead and relate this whole timing bit even more to me, shall we? OK. My new years resolution was to be “Bold.” See its February, and I still remember. I’m good, I know. Anyways, I’ve come to realize you can’t just “be Bold” at any random point in time. There must be a reason to qualify your boldness. The world truly is all about timing, therefore I will be spending some time working on it. Call it opportunistic or smart, this timing forethought will help me one day. When it does, I’ll gloat to let you know.
